During the 2010-11 school year, a team of staff members at Admiral Richard E. Byrd Middle School launched the Wishing Tree project.  What was conceived as a project to teach students about the Frederick County Public Schools' Core Character Traits, resulted in a lesson for students and staff on the importance of understanding the various challenges and distractions students face each day.
